Your new roleAs our new Trainee Accountant, you will join our Finance team in Manchester from where you will closely work with our 17 global offices in 13 countries.
As a member of the central finance function, you will lead the reporting for a selection of international offices, working closely with local representatives to ensure the fit within our global financial framework.
You will also be involved in a wider range of financial activities, gaining exposure to tasks such as the company wide budgeting and forecasting process or assisting with month-end and year-end reports.
In addition, we will offer our full support to enable you to gain an ACCA or CIMA accounting qualification, where the company will pay for your attendance at a college of your choice.
This role is a unique opportunity to join a truly global Finance team and to work on a wide range of finance processes to fully enhance your training and kick start your career.
Your activitiesWith our guidance, you will be the main Finance contact for several of our global offices, including:
- Ownership of subsidiary balance sheets, including journals and monthly reconciliations.
- Managing subsidiary management accounts, including trial balance management and variance analysis
- Liaising with our professional advisors to manage statutory filings, including financial statements and tax returns
- Reviewing and challenging individual office operating costs
- Providing analysis of spend variances to subsidiary stakeholders
Accounting responsibilities, including:
- Acting as the main finance contact for the employee expense system
- Liaising with project managers to report and review monthly consultancy revenue recognition
- Assisting the budgeting and forecasting process
- Assisting with company-wide reports for the financial month end and year end
- Assisting with ad-hoc Finance department projects
Your skills and experienceYou will be a recent graduate, or school leaver, looking to start your career in accounting and finance. You have strong academia and experience working in a professional environment. You are familiar with using Microsoft Excel to an intermediate level.
