Data Security Manager – Access

What you will do

Amgen is seeking a Data Security Manager to join Amgen’s Identity and Access Management team who will oversee the design, integration, and support of Amgen’s Microsoft Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, Oracle LDAP, PKI environments, and Privileged Account Management.
Identity Management at Amgen is a core group responsible for managing all the enterprise directories, identity provisioning and access management/ governance solutions, single sign-on tools, privileged identity management, PKI and other authentication platforms. This team is at the fore-front of enterprise architecture and security at Amgen and is passionate about providing solutions with great end user experience. Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will:
  • Own and manage Active Directory (on-premises and Azure), PKI, Oracle LDAP and various related systems and work as the liaison between the business and the technical staff to provide a translation of business requirements/issues to technical requirements/issues and vice-a-versa
  • Own and manage Amgen’s single sign-on environments including Okta, CA Siteminder, and Microsoft Azure, Amgen’s multifactor authentication services such as RSA, Amgen’s B2B environment providing solutions for external partners
  • Work with information protection senior management to scope and prioritize information security initiatives aligned with Amgen’s goals and objectives
  • Manage people, provide mentorship and training to engineers supporting Directories and Access and related technologies
  • Define a service strategy, road-map, and execution plan to deliver high impact business value and partner with the other Identity teams to engineers to implement solutions for cloud, mobile and on-premise applications.
  • Provide leadership and day to day operational management, participate in troubleshooting sessions, manage and handle escalations, guide and lead disaster recovery exercises, plan continuous process improvement, coordinate and handle budgets for staff and other org specific functions/services
  • Resolve issues escalated from Amgen’s operational support vendor and provide expert level troubleshooting for issues that bridge subject areas and technologies beyond team capabilities
  • Create and maintain technical documentation such as SOPs, design documents, operational drawings, manuals, etc.
  • Work with Global Information Protection (GIP) senior management to scope and prioritize information security initiatives aligned with Amgen’s goals and objectives
  • Provide leadership and day to day operational management, participate in troubleshooting sessions, manage and handle escalations, guide and lead disaster recovery exercises, plan continuous process improvement, coordinate and handle budgets for staff and other org specific functions/services
  • Lead efforts and participate in audits covering information security services and technologies

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent and 6 years of experience in a related field
  • Prior people management experience
  • Strong Microsoft Active Directory skills including AD LDS and Azure AD
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows: 2008/2012/2016, LDAP directories and PKI (Public Key Infrastructure)
  • Good working knowledge of DNS and WINS
  • Experience with managing regulated systems – FDA/SOX
  • Scripting skills such as PowerShell, Perl, VB Script, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of Web Access Management and SSO technologies (Okta, Azure, Ping Federate, SAML, OAuth, and OpenID/Connect)
  • Strong knowledge of RSA Authentication Manager (SecurID) or other multi-factor authentication methods, risk based authentication
  • Strong knowledge and background of B2B concepts and architecture, application and reverse proxies
  • Strong knowledge of networking concepts and protocols, LAN, WAN, SSL, Firewall, Load Balancer, and DMZ configurations
  • Must be team-oriented, placing priority on the successful completion of team goals
