Purpose of the Position:
Under general supervision this position is responsible for enhancing product workflow with the planning, implementation and stabilization of all JIS commodities for EVA2. Ensures checkpoint data and communication links at both MBUSI and Suppliers are functional. Coordination with the packaging group for correct quantities also required.
Essential Functions:
Prepare planning options, evaluate cost-efficiency, and provide analysis of both via detailed business case studies for Management approval.
Check feasibility of product changes (e.g. MY, MoPf and continuous changes) and coordinate implementation in trials and/or series production on schedule, including but not limited to, additional process steps, line or manpower balance, fixtures, material handling aids, part presentation, error-proofing, ergonomics, and training.
Support the plant and the supplier on the implementation of JIS commodities being delivered to the plant.
Implementation of all JIS commodities for EVA2 to the Plant.
Work closely with Transportation, IT, PCS and Packaging for JIS commodity setup.
Maintain part bill of material with all relevant logistic data in conjunction with New Type Planning.
Support CI ideas and activities with Material Handling to ensure achievement of their goals.
Work in project groups and lead and/or coordinate projects to implement Daimler worldwide standards.
Procure from and/or exchange information with partners/colleagues in the plant, logistics service provider, suppliers, and various departments (best practice and lessons learned).
Organize internal and external meetings to clarify definition of problems, identify root cause, implement countermeasures, and report findings.
Perform safe work practices and participate in trainings and safety programs in a positive and proactive way by following safety rules, procedures, regulations, standards and laws. Report all unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and injuries to supervisor or Human Resources.
Work safely 100% of the time.
Perform other duties as required.


QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Experience and Necessary Skills all must be met in order to qualify for position.
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain/Operations Management or in a related area, and/or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
A minimum of three (3) years' of relevant professional experience in the following area(s):
Engineering oriented environment within a manufacturing setting with strong emphasis on project management, production control and process planning.
Necessary Skills, Certifications, etc.:
Excellent organization, written and oral communication skills,
Proficient with MS PowerPoint and Excel,
Able to perform basic layout work in AutoCad,
Experience implementing lean material flows,
Working knowledge of SAP,
Strong problem solving skills in a cross-functional team environment.
Preferred Skills:
Microstation, START, German Language, Production Control and or IT experience.
