Cloud based management system built on microservices architecture

Description of the thesis proposal: 

This master thesis consists of creating the foundation of a management system to communicate with cluster(s) of devices and nodes, to collect information (Performance data, Fault/errors, Config, etc..) and process them in visualizations, error logging, config setting, etc.

In order to utilize dynamic scaling of the system, we suggest building the management system based on a microservice architecture hosted on one a local cloud service (raspberry pi or similar).

The use-case we are considering is the management of previously designed low-energy booking devices, that will utilize a communication HUB in order to send information to the cloud/management system.

Since these devices won’t send much information, the hope is that the student is able to produce a lightweight management system that can be easily scalable for heavier loads of data by utilizing microservices.

What we’re looking for:

The proposed project will require a dedicated student with a background in software development or embedded programming that has an interest of management systems and microservices. Depending on the applicant’s background and interests, we are flexible in the exact scope of the thesis project.
