We are looking for you, an ambitious Finance student (m/f), to support our Credit Risk Management teams by doing an internship project in “Credit Risk Analysis and Working Capital Optimization” for our location in Terneuzen, the Netherlands.

Both Business Finance teams provide support in risk management and working capital optimization in their role as Finance co-pilot for business leadership. The teams consist of highly skilled professionals, working with state-of-the art processes and systems, and taking relevant social, political and economic developments into account in order to achieve an acceptable risk exposure and the most optimal outcome for our business.
The wide range of tasks and responsibilities that are part of an internship can be summarized as follows:
Perform Credit Risk Assessments by obtaining financial information from different possible sources, verifying the customers’ corporate structure and determining the optimal and acceptable credit limit levels in line with Dow’s Risk Assessment model. Prepare recommendations on credit decisions for the responsible Credit Managers. Update customer master set-up with credit limit and payment terms.
Interact with stakeholders (i.e. Dow's commercial organization, credit team members) on new or adjusted credit limit requests.
Review blocked orders due to insufficient credit limit or overdue invoices and propose possible actions to avoid order blocks.
Working Capital impact analysis for customer or account manager’s requests for new payment terms, adjustments of existing payment terms, or change of invoicing method (i.e. calculate impact on required Working Capital and determine financial cost).
- You are currently studying for a bachelor’s or master's degree in Finance or Economics.
- You have a good working knowledge of English. Additional European language skills are a plus.
You can spend a period of 2 to 6 months on the internship assignment (exact timing to be discussed).
