Firmware Engr Manager en HP Inc.

As a PM, you will manage a team of individual contributors and will be accountable for the technical charter, asset roadmap and strategic direction, cost management, and people development. You will also provide informed technology inputs or proposals to management that drives innovation and consistently improve value to the business.
Experience: 12-16 years of work experience, with strong technical hands-on experience and atleast 2-4 years of hands-on experience as a Project Manager with accountability for results of a major program in terms of cost, direction and people management. Applied technical experience in architecture, design, coding, code review and coaching team on design and development. Generating customer insights, translating these insights into implementable requirements, drive operational excellence and setup execution rigor to deliver to business outcomes. Ability to provide inputs to and influence architecture & technology decision-making. Experience in end-to-end ecosystem engineering and/or cyber-physical systems a significant plus, but not mandatory. Possesses superior communication, people and influencing skills. B.E/B.Tech or equivalent experience required. Masters degree is a plus.
Roles and responsibilities:
Accountable for flawless project execution right from ideation to project delivery and instilling a rigorous approach to delivering with Quality. Lead a talented technical engineering team (8-15 people) that delivers world-class Software / Firmware for HP’s Inkjet, LaserJet and Large Format printers.
Apply advanced Firmware development and domain knowledge to manage team activities in solving common & complex project issues. Review of coding artifacts, suggestions for design improvements. Knowledge of architecture to ensure work of team meets architecture & quality standards for customers.
Coach and motivate teams around all aspects of Software/Firmware engineering (Functional, Non-Functional, processes, tools, etc.)
Work with Technical Program Managers on optimizing scope, schedule, resource, quality for their features.
Superior collaboration skills, influencing, change management skills; Creates and fosters stakeholder relationships, globally. Interlock with other feature teams to ensure product integrity.
Accountable for team building and talent management (e.g.: workforce planning, goal setting/measurement, career planning). Develop new skills (organic, rotations & hiring) based on current & future requirements.
Ability to change status quo; Leading change through creative solutions to unstructured product and system issues. Drive pipeline of work as opposed to being a mere recipient.
Passionate about technology and product development; actively champions and creates technology-driven business value. Generates IP.
Optimizing team’s participation in all phases of product development.
Inspire the team, be a strong motivator, evangelist and role model for the team. Manage performance and build culture in alignment with biz strategy.
