Under the direction of the Manufacturing and Operational Excellence Manager, this person will develop, implement, and maintain effective methods and procedures to ensure that all relevant business intelligence and operational data is gathered, analyzed, reported, and continuously improved. The r Operational Analyst communicates and uses this data, along with ABB’s global OPEX tools, to support the definition and implementation of actions to improve safety, operating efficiency, quality and productivity in the value chain, to improve customer satisfaction and increase profitability in a safe working environment within the local business. They are also expected to be the local MM and PP SAP Superuser that coordinates and monitors the local manufacturing unit’s material master data lifecycle (creation, update and archive/deletion processes) by following the standards and quality requirements of the domain.

Performs assigned tasks in a safe manner that will encourage others to exercise safety in their normal daily activities.
Assists with the analysis and communication of customer perceptions to guide the local improvement actions toward greater customer satisfaction.
Data Analysis:
Gathers, analyzes, and reports in an accurate and timely manner on Quality and Operational Excellence (Q&OpEx) metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the analysis, management, and continuous improvement of local processes. Also monitors progress and supports actions on deviations from targets. Designs and develops complex models or simulations for conducting independent studies using analytical techniques. Maintain awareness of state-of-the-art technologies related to the local manufacturing unit.
Support Strategy:
Promotes and supports the deployment of the local Quality and Operational Excellence (Q&OpEx) strategy. Promotes the local use of global, divisional, and business unit tools, trainings, and programs developed by business function quality and operational excellence (BF- QO) to support the local organization’s capability to continuously improve business practices and performance.
Material Master Data Records, Quality Assurance and SAP Superuser:
Ensures that SAP material master data is maintained efficiently and accurately in all systems within scope of responsibility. Understands the impact of the SAP material master data maintenance and provides guidance to others regarding SAP master data.
Documents, reviews and updates all local business processes and work instructions related to areas of responsibility.
Project Management:
Prepare schedules, conducts and coordinates analytics related projects.
Cost Savings and Finance:
Analyze and correlate financial aspects of metrics and KPIs to develop cost savings proposals and coordinate associated activities.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors' degree and 5 years' experience in operations management or engineering or supply chain or inventory management or logistics
  • A Master’s Degree in required field = Credit given for 2 years of work experience.
  • A PhD/Doctorate in required field = Credit given for 3 years of work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors' degree in industrial engineering or computer science or related field
Experience with SAP's Material Management Module and/or Production Planning Module
SAP data analytics experience
Business intelligence experience
Six Sigma Black Belt certification
Experience with creating advanced Microsoft Excel presentation and simulations.
SAP data structures as it relates to financial and operational metrics.
Understanding of SAP variant configuration (LO-VC) processes regarding Bill of Materials (BOM) and production routings, document management (DM), quality management (QM) & Sales and Delivery (SD) modules
Experience articulating Data Warehouse reporting requirements such as SAP BW or Microsoft Analysis Services.
