Wyndham Vacation Ownership is currently seeking an Accounting Manager in Orlando, Florida to prepare, maintain and analyze budgetary and performance reports for assigned BU. Submit key information/results to management in a timely manner and recommend actions to be taken that will result in adherence to budget. Supervise personnel responsible for specific financial reporting and various related finance functions. Provide direct budgetary, forecasting, analytical and business advisory support to the operations managers and site directors within assigned business units. Make recommendations and implement changes to streamline processes within the Owner Services Accounting group. Ensure the Company's financial statements are reported in conformity with GAAP while coordinating the forecasting and reporting and providing useful information to the Company's decision makers.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


  • Manage the operating and budgeting process for various departments within the Contact Center. Review actual performance to budget/forecast and prepare variance explanations. Communicate financial results and variances to the assigned units with an emphasis on areas of concern and/or opportunities for improvement. Work with the various operating departments to prepare forecasts of operating results.

  • Facilitate the monthly general ledger close process to stay within the timelines of the corporate close schedule. Ensure financial statements are presented in accordance with GAAP and appropriate financial variance analyses is provided timely to management and assigned business units.

  • Work directly with operational leaders as it relates to forecasting and P&L reviews. Identify accounting and internal control issues within the assigned business units directly and indirectly related to their forecast, develop action plans for resolution, communicate findings and assist in the action plans for resolution. Participate in operations and planning meetings as requested or assigned. Act as liaison between the Accounting team and operations management.

  • Managing and overseeing the department with direct reports.

  • Review and approve balance sheet account reconciliations and ensure they are accurate and complete.

Qualifications

Education


  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related financial field

  • MBA /CPA preferred

Knowledge and Skills


  • Ability to work independently and strong self initiative

  • Detail Oriented

  • High self confidence

Technical Skills


  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word and advanced user in Excel

  • PeopleSoft Software knowledge a plus
Job Experience

  • Minimum 4 years Accounting experience

  • 2 yrs. management experience preferred

  • Hospitality background a plus
