Legal Student, Data Protection (GDPR) to Flying Tiger Copenhagen at Flying Tiger Copenhagen

Zebra A/S is looking for a Legal Student with an interest in and knowledge of data protection to join its Legal Department. Zebra is a retailer based in Copenhagen and operates the chain of Flying Tiger Copenhagen-stores. We currently have more than 750 stores across Europe, US, Japan and South Korea.

This is the job

In Zebra's Legal Department we are conducting a GDPR project to ensure GDPR compliance in the Zebra group of companies. We are looking for a legal student, who can assist on this project around 12-15 hours a week at our headquarters in Strandgade, Copenhagen. We expect that the employment will be for approximately a year but depending on the follow-up activities, when the project has been completed, the employment may be extended beyond a year. 

Your key tasks as legal GDPR student will include:

  • Coordinating and following up on GDPR project meetings and other administrative tasks related to the project

  • Assisting with updating and implementing data protection policies 

  • Assisting with ensuring that GDPR documentation is in place 

  • Drafting/updating data processing agreements

  • Assisting with implementing group GDPR policies in all companies in the Zebra group (we currently have more than fifty companies across 30 countries)

You will be part of an energetic legal team and will get to collaborate with many departments in Zebra and with our external law firm on the GDPR project. 
If the GDPR project work allows (outside the project's peak periods), we would like you to assist with handling with other tasks in our legal department, which may be archiving of agreements in our electronic agreement database, investigating specific legal issues, drafting/amending agreements and updating company overviews. 

This is you

We expect you to have a bachelor in Law and that you have an interest in and knowledge of both the current data protection rules and the new GDPR rules coming into force in May 2018. It is an advantage (but not a requirement) if you have some work experience with the current data protection rules and GDPR. 
You must be fluent in Danish and English, both in writing and verbally. You work independently, take responsibility, thrive in an informal environment and take pride in timely and professional delivery to both internal and external stakeholders.
