Description Student Interns enhance the service delivery at SCO Family of Services through their willing participation in program activities that enrich and compliment the programs in which they are placed. In placement, students will be offered an array of field experience that will effectively meet their learning needs related to engagement, assessment, interviewing, basic casework etc. Students are expected to have flexibility to accommodate program need and are required to complete administrative tasks as associated with their placement functions. A qualified (SIFI Certified, or otherwise appropriately credentialed) licensed staff member will provide students with field instruction including 1-2 hours of supervision weekly. The student will have the opportunity to attend internal and external relevant seminars and workshops.
The MSW/MFT level intern will serve 21 Hours a week providing administrative support to the agency’s managed care readiness project and supplemental clinical treatment to children and families in SCO's foster care programs. Tasks include working with department leadership to coordinate care coordination referrals, enter demographic and clinical information into an excel data base and present reports to the care coordination/Health Home team. The MSW/MFT intern will provide guidance on referral completion, troubleshoot referral problems and ensure that the data base and tracking is up to date and accurate. Additionally, the intern will be responsible for providing assessment, developing treatment plans and supporting program treatment goals for up to three children and their families.

Qualifications
The successful candidate will:
  • Display a strong desire to learn about the special needs, treatment options, behavioral approaches for the individuals served through in-house education and participation with department staff.
  • Be willing to observe and participate in program functions to gain exposure to services offered.
  • Express an interest in improving assessment, oral and written communication, and engagement skills.
  • Have the ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality and adhere to program regulations, policies, and procedures.

Must have excellent organizational and typing skills and have experience with team building.
Must be working towards MSW/MFT
