In R&D, we have a range of internship opportunities to match your strengths, below are just a few of the teams you could be involved in:
Industrial Design - Working with a team of designers who love what they do, you’ll provide the creative thinking behind the design, aesthetics and shape of new chocolate products to generate amazing consumer experiences.
Creative Designer (Packaging) – The Global Chocolate Packaging team work on innovative ideas to create new and exciting packaging solutions by using appropriate software packages, 3D models & physical prototypes, 2D designs & visualisations.
Product Development - These teams bring together scientific knowledge and creative minds to develop new and existing chocolate products for our most loved brands e.g. Cadbury, Milka & Toblerone to name a few.
Process Development - This team works on process equipment design; for safety, efficiency & quality, and to optimise processes for new & existing products.
Technology Discovery - The technology discovery team unlocks future technology to enable the business to grow, by understanding how science and technology advances can be applied creatively to our products.
Ingredients Research - Ingredients Research are part of a dynamic global research team dedicated to establishing fundamental scientific understanding and discovering technologies.
Scientific and Regulatory Affairs (SARA) - Regulatory affairs work to ensure all product labelling meets food labelling legislation & internal guidance and are not misleading to the consumer.
Consumer Science - The Consumer Science department works as a partner in research projects and in the development and improvement of new and existing products, using a wide range of sensory and consumer science methodologies.
Functional Ingredients - The Functional Ingredients group provides a range of analytical methods to assist customers with nutritional claim substantiation, due diligence, labelling and ingredient stability.
Product Ingredient Innovation - PII formulates, develops and optimises products to meet product development and innovation briefs for Mondelez International and clients from the external food industry.
Physical sciences - The physical properties of food and pharmaceutical products are of vital importance in predicting and optimising quality and behaviour during processing and storage.
- Studying towards a Food Science, Engineering, or other scientific discipline (e.g. Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Food & Nutrition, Physical Sciences, Materials Science, Physics) or Design disciplines for relevant roles
- 2:1 degree or equivalent (predicted or achieved)
- Self-drive and motivation
- Naturally inquisitive and passionate about technical excellence and sciences and can apply fundamental knowledge practically
- Can work with a level of autonomy, as well as works well in a team
- Demonstrates strong analytical, communication and presentation abilities
- Pro-active, highly motivated, ready to take on new responsibilities and build strong relationships
- Organisation and planning skills
- If there are opportunities, able to travel overseas, for plant trials/commissioning work and occasionally work on shift, as projects needs dictate
- Good working knowledge of MS Office
