The Cargo Systems General Manager will have full P&L responsibility and lead a non-union team of roughly 470 design engineering, manufacturing, project management, and product assembly employees located in Jamestown, ND & Bangalore, India. The General Manager will work to develop organizational, operational, and financial strategies to meet current and future business objectives.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead the Cargo Systems organization to achieve operational and financial targets
  • Define and execute a business growth strategy
  • Represent the organization to internal and external stakeholders
  • Oversee deployment of the Collins management system within the Cargo business
  • Develop, analyze and review a variety of indicators to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost
  • Evaluate current organizational effectiveness; Partner with HR to define a talent strategy that aligns to current and future business needs
  • Foster a high-performance culture with emphasis on ethics, collaboration, and customer focus
  • Collaborate and partner with functional leadership to deliver integrated business solutions
  • Leverage coaching, advisement, mentorship, and stretch assignments to drive employee engagement, skill development, and performance
  • Support change and transition management activities to maximize results

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, or Business
  • 10 years of progressive engineering and/or operations leadership experience within a global manufacturing enterprise

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong supply chain, value stream management, & business development experience
  • Demonstrated ability to provide multi-site leadership in a complex & fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to meet program delivery milestones
  • Ability to effectively interface with customers & key internal stakeholders
  • Ability to drive action and accountability in a matrixed environment
  • Proven ability to promote and implement change
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
