Project Manager in digitalisation and process optimisation at Novo Nordisk

We are looking for talented individuals to join Legal Operations in Global Legal in Novo Nordisk. You will be responsible for leading global process optimisation and digitalisation projects from idea to realise phase. About the department

Global Legal is responsible for managing legal risks and opportunities in Novo Nordisk and for driving the global legal strategy. With approximately 300 colleagues globally, the Global Legal function reports directly to the CFO of Novo Nordisk.

The job

We are in the process of implementing a new contract management IT system across the global organisation. As Project Manager in the Legal Operations team, your core responsibilities will revolve around digitalising the contract management process in Novo Nordisk.

You will take on a crucial role in maximising the current system functionalities, through the ongoing implementation, and in driving further improvements of the system and process surrounding contract management. The potential impact of your work is large, since we in Novo Nordisk create around 100,000 contracts per year. It is our task to take this opportunity to create efficiency by leveraging our new system and by improving our processes to achieve real, tangible gains for the business and thousands ofcolleagues who create and manage contracts on a daily basis.

You will work as part of a bigger cross-functional team and with the Agile project methodology at a large scale. Specifically, your daily activities will include:

  • Prioritisation of tasks to maximise impact in the project
  • Application of typical project management methodologies, incl. quantitative and qualitative analyses, identification of root causes to problems, building proposals for solutions and implementation
  • Facilitate change management to reach the business goal

In addition, you will drive ad hoc projects focused on reaping efficiencies across the Global Legal function, e.g. related to sourcing of legal services, analysing spend data to target cost savings and knowledge sharing.

Legal operations is about bringing typical problem solving capabilities from business management to the legal function to drive efficiencies. You will be part of the newly-established Legal Operations team, which consists of five people. We are a young team, who rely on each other to deliver on ambitious goals, defined by the Global Legal senior leadership team. In addition to the five people in Denmark, we have 30 colleagues in India, whom we collaborate with daily.

Because of the global nature of our work, some travel can be expected in this role (2-4 weeks/year).

Qualification

You hold a relevant degree (Economics, Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, IT or similar) in which you have excelled. We envision that the ideal candidate brings up to 5 years of experience from management consulting or another recognised organisation.

We are also interested in hearing about experience you may have with:

  • Process optimisation/deep process insight
  • IT Projects or the Agile project management methodology
  • Change management and successful project implementation at scale

Legal operations require drive and stamina, since we often drive projects with a long timeline or process improvements. Therefore, you have “thick skin”, a relentless focus on maximising impact and derive energy from creating results in collaboration with others. Success in this role requires managing a diversity of needs (from project demands to stakeholders) and sharp prioritisation on a daily basis; so you thrive in an ambitious environment and welcome feedback.

You are comfortable questioning the status quo and value working in a team that encourages creative ideas and a diversity of perspectives. As you will work internationally and with colleagues at all levels in the organisation, you communicate clearly and concisely (incl. fluently in English).
