About the department

Corporate Patents – GSC (CP-GBS) together with Corporate Patents Denmark (CP-DK) and Novo Nordisk Inc. Intellectual Property Department (NNI-IPD) forms Novo Nordisk’s Global Patent Organization (GPO). CP-GBS provides Prior Art Searches (Novelty & Freedom of Operation Searches), Patent Prosecution and Patent Coordinator Support to GPO.

The position

As a Patent Coordinator, you will be acting as Case Manager (CM), Back-up Case Manager (CMB), Process Expert (PE), and Country responsible in accordance with the CP-GBS specific manuals and Guidelines available in Globeshare.
You will be independently handling all formal matters related to Indian patent filing, patent prosecution, and communications with the Indian Patent Office to ensure NN Indian patents are in force and secure from NN competitors.
On other hand, you must handle various formal matters in relation to WW/EP patent prosecution, and communications with the Patent Offices to ensure NN patents are in force and secure from NN competitors under the supervision of Senior/Adv. Patent coordinator/mentor/coach/trainer.
You must stay current on the changes in Rules and Acts implemented by the IN-Patent Office and suggest proactive measures appropriately and actively partners with the concerned IN Patent Attorneys and the Global Patent Coordinators on such matters.
Subsequently, you will co-operate and collaborate with patent attorneys and contribute towards securing patent protection for the company’s products, actions related to patent surveillance and patent challenges from Third Parties under the supervision of Senior/Adv. Patent coordinator/mentor/coach/trainer and assist the Team by handling the daily due date tasks, Distribution, Docketing & PAMSing
It is expected that you will be able to handle common IP related issues in the portfolio under the supervision of the Senior/Adv. Patent coordinator/mentor/coach/trainer and included in cross- department projects and required to work with international colleagues, the complexity of the tasks may demand high innovation to deal with new situations in an international context to make sure that all issues are addressed appropriately, and impact is fully understood by stakeholders

Qualification

  • A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with excellent academic record.
  • 3+Years’ experience in patent formal matters related to European Patent Office (EPO), Indian Patent Office (IPO) and patenting procedures is also desirable
  • Some demonstrated skills for solving problems using process-oriented thinking is desirable.
  • Knowledge of procedures in connection with handling incoming and outgoing case files correspondences
  • Excellent communication skills with a strong command over written and spoken English is essential.
  • Experience in working with patent management tool/IP Docketing Tools preferable Anaqua.
