We are looking for a full-time Communication Advisor based in Houston. The Communication Advisor supports the development and implementation of Subsea 7’s external and internal communications strategy in line with operational objectives and communications processes for the Gulf of Mexico region.
Key responsibilities:
  • Management and effective communication of, and compliance to, Subsea 7’s brand guidelines
  • Develop and implement marketing strategy and marketing plans regionally to achieve our growth ambitions, in line with company strategy
  • Drive, develop and manage Subsea 7 (GOM) media relations plan including production of press releases, in consultation with Group Communications and Investor Relations
  • Responsible for producing and editing Subsea 7 (GOM) publications (internal and external)
  • Work with Sales team to bring new materials to production
  • Event management of Subsea 7 (GOM) participation at selected conferences/events Continuously develop and improve marketing resources and materials
  • Responsible for day to day management and development of Subsea 7 (GOM) social media channels and website
  • Create and maintain inventory of on and offline branded materials

  • Development and implementation of the Subsea 7 (GOM) internal communications annual plan, with input from and aligned with Corporate
  • Coordination and engagement with management and HR to drive internal communications messaging (e.g. organize town hall meetings, manage the internal 7 Online intranet page and SharePoint, video boards)
  • Brand management – ensures communications activities consistently adhere to Being 7, employer brand guidelines
  • Support Subsea7 (GOM) leadership team in preparation of internal and external high-level presentation material and content
  • Teams Live Events

  • Provide communications advice and support to Subsea 7 (GOM) functions including guidance, development of materials and campaigns
  • Communications interface with Group Communications to support company-wide initiatives and activities
  • Member of Emergency response team
  • Occasional travel may be required

Capability profile / Qualifications:
  • Creative autonomous, flexible and adaptable to suit nature of working in communications environment
  • Self-motivated individual capable of working under own direction
  • The successful candidate will be expected to work autonomously on a business unit level, and to work effectively as part of the Global communications team
  • Excellent communications skills – written and verbal
  • Ability to tailor communications to diverse audiences
  • Ability to work both strategically and operationally
  • Strong planning skills are critical to manage multiple stakeholders and concurrent projects
  • Excellent project management skills – can demonstrate track record of successful project delivery, on time and to budget
  • Minimum Bachelor level of education (preferably Communication or Marketing).
  • Good strategic understanding of the market and internal processes
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in similar position
  • Experience of working in a large multinational company
  • Fluent in verbal and written English
