Function Related Activities/Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform weekly sanitations, aseptic site sample collections, microbiological testing, and equipment monitoring.
  • Perform additional sanitations as required (weekly, monthly, annually).
  • Monitoring and maintaining the Lehigh Valley Plant’s Microbiological program, including sampling, swabbing, testing, validating, and interpreting micro testing results. Work with leadership in necessary troubleshooting and corrective action plans.
  • Equipment calibration and general maintenance.
  • Perform microbiological testing of incoming ingredients, treated water and finished product. Perform ingredient receiving and incoming trailer inspection.
  • Testing raw materials and finished goods to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Identify activities not in accordance with company policies and procedures and inform appropriate parties.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation and retention of statistics in relation to execution against policies, procedures, and standards.
  • May be required to work extended day overtime, and/or additional day overtime including Friday or Saturday.
  • Responsible for monthly inventory cycle counts and annual reconciliation.

Education Requirements:
Associate degree in a physical or biological science field desired. High School Diploma/GED equivalent required.
Related Work Experience:
  • 2 years of manufacturing experience preferred.
  • SAP experience beneficial.
  • Experience working in a laboratory environment.

Functional Skills:
  • Available to work overtime and/or flexible shift hours when required.
  • Have good attendance and punctuality. Being in work area at scheduled shift start time.
  • Takes initiative and has accountability for the quality and effectiveness of own work.
  • Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Have working knowledge of production and sanitation.
  • Demonstrated commitment to development of skills. Works well in a team environment, across functional boundaries
  • Perform advanced trouble shooting tasks.
