Job description:

Within Solvay Business Services, the global shared service for Solvay, the HR Service Line is in charge of managing Payroll & Benefits operations, Payroll design, Talent & Acquisition and other HR areas for Solvay globally. 
Payroll & Benefits administration service in Belgium is in charge of delivering the payroll, Pensions & Benefits for more than 2500 active and inactive employees in Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg.

 

The Payroll Specialist Benelux (NL/BE) will be in charge of supporting the Solvay Belgian Payroll and Benefits Team by providing accurate and timely services linked to Payroll or Benefits for Belgium and Netherlands (Luxemburg is out of scope for this position).
Based in Belgium, you will be part of a team of around 12 people based in Brussels (Neder-Over-Hembeek) that are in charge of the Benelux zone. Under the guidance of the Payroll Manager for BeNelux, you will take in charge autonomously several operational and complex activities linked to Payroll or Benefits.

 

The main responsibilities of the BeNeLux Payroll Specialist are to:

  • Coordinate the end-to-end payroll process, and execute and monitor the controls in close collaboration with the Payroll team as well as with the external payroll provider to ensure the timely Payroll service delivery, using SAP payroll (monthly / quarterly / yearly processes) for Belgium and Netherland. For clarity, Solvay does not work with a social office in Belgium.
  • Deliver information to the external authorities and represent Solvay where required (e;g; : withholding and social follow-up)
  • Provide reports, expertise and support to colleagues and internal stakeholders and employees (e.g. work council reports, total reward statement, collective agreements, etc.;)
  • Give support for the management and administration of the Board of Directors payroll (including annual report) as well as other specific payroll processes occurring on a monthly or yearly basis (e.g. : Company Car, …)
  • Support the management and administration of monthly advantages related to impat-expat (including INR process), coordinate and monitor  activities performed by the payroll provider, perform in-depth consistency checks on data received and check results before transferring them into the payroll system, in line with the payroll calendar;
  • Support to the team for ensuring operational management of the Payroll accounting : check, clear, validate and monitor open item in accounts on a monthly basis as well as accruals 
  • Give support in order to prepare audits and risk managements (internal or external) related to Payroll for Belgium and Netherland : manage and respect deadlines, provide the information required and assure follow-up on short term basis
  • Give support to the Solvay Belgian Payroll and Benefits Team related to on-going projects (eg power of 2 and /or Time To Pay)
  • Give support to the Pensions & Benefits Team related

Profile description:

Education and experience

  • Bachelor diploma in Payroll/HRIS/Finance or equivalent through experience
  • Strong experience in Payroll on an operational level - minimum 5 years’ experience in Belgian Payroll

 

Required skills

  • Belgium payroll and legislation knowledge is mandatory,
  • In-depth knowledge of SAP HR;
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and/or Google tools / advanced use of spreadsheets (Excel, Google Sheets);
  • Strong customer service orientation;
  • Well organized, stress resilient, being able to respect deadline
  • Fluency in French and English, Dutch is an asset

 

This will be a fixed-term term contract of 1-year, potentially renewable.

Work experience: 2-3 years
