Tasks


In a world that is continuously changing, the focus is moving towards the occupants of the vehicle, as the driving will be taken care off. This equates to advanced climate control systems that predict future events such as weather and area specific disturbances. We in team RD/KIT are in charge of climate control systems with a large focus on control theory. We are however looking for an ambitious individual looking to gain the skills required to equip them for any automotive research department. Using state of the art equipment, most commonly used in autonomous driving applications, the individual will not be limited to only climate control sensors.
Your tasks:
  • Software Testing
  • Hands on Test Scenarios Creation
  • Test Cases Execution
  • Logging and Tracking Bugs
  • Connection, Calibration of various new sensors (LiDAR, RADAR, etc.)
  • Measurements with said sensors in soak boxes, wind tunnels as well as long distance drives on public roads and closed circuits
  • Realization of applicable sensors and algorithms for a prototype vehicle together with a team of programmers and algorithm developers

Qualifications


Studies: Mechanical Engineering, Application Engineer or similar
Language skills: Very good communication skills and proficiency in English and German
IT skills: Experiences with MS-Office
Soft skills: Independent working style, ability to analyze complex topics and derive practical solutions
Further skills: Matlab/Simulink and knowledge on CAN is a plus, Drivers License preferred, Prior automotive experience is a benefit, Machine Learning is a plus
3D Vision knowledge and prior experience will be highly valuable
