You'll be part of the Tesla Construction Team, which is a dynamic, challenging, and vital team at Tesla. As part of your weekly duties you will interface with the facilities engineering teams, multiple construction contractors and communicate directly to our customer the manufacturing and production teams. You will be responsible for the planning, development and execution of a portion of the overall project.
This includes the office side coordination, budget and scheduling as well as boots on the ground work to quickly resolve technical issues and inspecting completed works
Strategic and analytical in approach when evaluating construction progress or obstacles and provide solutions to stay on schedule and minimize cost, impacts, etc.
Knowledge and experience in design development, permitting strategies, construction documentation and administration, sharp focus on project closeout
Work closely with engineering team, construction team, contracts, manufacturing and commissioning team
Communicate regularly to management and the project team with project updates such as the status of each stage, upcoming benchmark goals, potential issues, etc.
Support reporting on construction progress, risks, and schedule/budget exposures
Work with procurement team to create biddable work packages and verify contractor bids against cost/schedule estimates
Troubleshoot walk down and resolve control system issues that arise from the field
Quickly respond to queries and resolve any technical barriers to completion
Working on a degree in Construction Engineering, or other related fields to Battery Cell.
Previous internship or work experience in the construction engineering industry focused on execution works for a Battery Cell MFG Facility
Excellent written and verbal communication in English
Willingness to spend a high percentage of time in the field and to get hands dirty as needed to complete objectives or find the correct information
Ability to work within a high-performance, cross-functional organization with extremely tight timelines and ambitious goals
Self-directed with a high level of initiative and a “can do” attitude, but open to feedback and a strong desire to learn and adjust accordingly
