Job Description

Are you looking for an internship, where you can get a first professional experience in a dynamic environment? Avery Dennison, a global leader in the manufacture of labeling & packaging materials, is seeking an Intern for our Turnhout site in Belgium.

Your main objectives can be achieved:

By analyzing our current packaging and providing best in class alternatives which enables increased sustainability, improved costs and complexity reduction which can accelerate automatization of our process with controlled costs. You will be surrounded by the industry experts of Avery Dennison Turnhout (BEL) and get the best support to attain your goals.

The Avery Dennison Materials Belgium site in Turnhout is a fast-growing production site of 450 people, with a variety of different jobs and profiles. As an inspiring and creative industrial engineer with a strong motivation you are very welcome to help us to get better sustainable solutions for the packaging of our goods.

After a period of training and immersion in the workshops, you are responsible of:
  • Finding ways to significantly reduce the number of packaging items (one size fits all) the cost reduction goal should be 50%.
  • Increase the sustainability of our packaging by better recyclability or reusable solutions.
  • Reduce the complexity which enables automatization of the packaging process.

The preferred start date is ASAP. The ideal candidate is available 5 days a week for 6 months at least. The nature of the assignment is to be more site based but the internship can be done remotely for up to 1 or 2 days per week.

Qualifications

What kind of candidate are we looking for?
  • You are currently in your last year of Bachelors or Masters in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management or any other related studies.
  • You are rigorous, structured, with good analytical skills, an eye for detail and an ability to link elements, synthesize and report information and issues at the right level.
  • You have a curious mind and leadership skills.
  • Fluency in English is a plus.

The relocation support is not possible for the internship programs, anyone with the practical approach to relocate on their own and be able to commute to the site 3-4 days per week is more than welcome.
