Promoting financial integration and financial stability
A young EU institution
We are one of the newest official EU institutions, set up in 1998, with over 2,500 staff from across Europe. We serve the people of Europe by protecting the value of the euro and keeping prices stable. We are “young” in another respect as well – more than half our staff are aged between 35 and 45, and the average age of our managers is about 45.
We are independent. We are transparent. We are accountable.
What we offer
If you join the ECB, you will be actively fostering and supporting the safety and soundness of Europe’s economy, contributing to decisions that affect the lives of more than 330 million people. You will be working in a dynamic multicultural environment, with colleagues from across Europe.
We value our employees, and you will have many opportunities to develop your personal and professional skills throughout your career. Take a look at what we have to offer: working at the ECB means much more than just an attractive salary.
Diversity and inclusion
At the ECB, we believe diversity creates excellence – more diverse teams mean a wider range of opinions, leading to better and more robust results. We aspire to be an organisation in which diversity is welcomed and appreciated in all its facets. Enabling diversity is vital to our institution to deliver the best possible outcome for our staff and for Europe. The facets of diversity include – but are not limited to – gender, nationality, religion, sexual orientation, ethnic origin, age, cultural background and disability.
