We currently have an an exciting opportunity exists for a highly motivated Transport Planner to join our team. As part of the Planning team, this role covers a broad range of skills relating to transport planning in the fields of development planning, traffic engineering, analysis, assessment and preliminary design.

About the role

The Transport Planner will undertake design, project management and consulting services within transport planning, in order to enhance the team’s portfolio of skills and expertise. In addition, the successful candidate will:
  • Provide technical support within project teams under the leadership of project managers
  • Collaboratively work and interact with wider multi-disciplinary professional teams.
  • Analyse, model and assess future transport demands and network requirements.
  • Plan and design for all transport modes, interchange activity and the creation of public realm areas.
  • Prepare technical reports including transport assessments and input to environmental statements to support planning applications.

About you

  • 2-6 years’ experience in transport planning, engineering and modelling for developments and transport infrastructure schemes;
  • Proficiency in data collection, interpretation and visualization;
  • Understanding of local and strategic modelling packages (for example SIDRA, Linsig, Aimsum, SATURN, VISSIM);
  • Knowledge of planning for walking, cycling, bus operations and public realm enhancements;
  • Excellent report writing, oral communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work pro-actively within project teams led by project managers;
  • Working knowledge of DoP, DoT, PTA and MainRoads assessment and modelling guidance;
  • Working towards chartered membership of a professional organization.
