Shotgun Team @ Autodesk

Autodesk's Shotgun’s Ecosystem team is hiring a Principal Software Engineer, Shotgun Pipeline Toolkit! Shotgun is an Emmy Award-winning product that studios of all sizes utilize for production management. Our team is responsible for everything developers and TDs use to build on Shotgun, including APIs, pipeline tools, and our rich developer community. Our goal is to provide functionality studios around the world can use to build awesome tools and workflows faster. Our small team is distributed around the world, and we’re looking for the right person to join us!

Position Overview

The person we are looking for loves and has a history of translating efficient artist workflows into intuitive, effective, and elegant tools and APIs. You enjoy and value conversations with your end users and know how important such conversations are to a successful delivery. You are able to thread the needle of delivering well designed, supportable workflows that are production friendly yet delivered on a production timeline. We all work remotely, so you have to be self motivated and an excellent communicator.
We think that your background is in computer science, but more important is that you have experience designing and building a significant portion of a studio’s pipeline and have supported it through multiple projects. You are a seasoned developer who understands what it means to deliver and support polished workflows. Ideally, you have experience building user interfaces, APIs, and have used Shotgun in production. You also have the technical chops to dive in and write plugins for a variety of applications used in content creation -- Maya, Nuke, Houdini, etc.
We place a strong focus on building our developer community, and are constantly talking to our users to make sure that we understand their needs and that we are building what they want. We appreciate how important the right finishing touches are to our users’ success -- things like documentation, training, and support -- and so should you.
If helping developers and TDs the world over build the best pipelines and tools is a challenge that inspires you, then let’s talk!
