As a result of FCA’s focus to bring high quality products with an exceptional user experience to its customers, it is expanding its Information Technology Product Development organization in the area responsible for supporting the development of Automated Driving /Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) of the future. Selected candidates will be immersed in a hands-on role, working with state of the art technologies, in a field exhibiting rapid year over year growth. As part of this team, candidates will work side by side with specialists and subject matter experts creating an environment fostering continued skill set growth and knowledge sharing. The ADAS team is currently seeking individuals to fill the role of an Autonomous Driving Systems Analyst. In that position the Analyst will be responsible for developing systems to support automated driving simulation applications with data collected from automated driving testing properties such as developmental automated driving vehicles, software- and hardware-in-the-loop systems and virtual vehicle simulations. The simulation applications are used to perform virtual validation that along with other virtual and physical testing is necessary to successfully launch ADAS features to production.
The position responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Support Engineering Organization’s Automated Driving System Validation team with simulation, hardware-in-the-loop, software-in-the-loop systems and methods
  • Create and manage systems with definition, analysis, documentation of requirements for the design, implementation, and testing of simulation applications in close collaboration with Automated Driving System Validation team
  • Support analysis of data and test results, application of statistical models and validation methods, and reporting of findings and results
  • Troubleshoot issues and assist other V&V engineers during the use of the data collected including re-simulation of in-vehicle logged data
  • Manage ADAS applications with version upgrades and improvements as they become available and working with vendors
  • Participate in collaborative discussions with global organizations to ensure standardization of tools, methodologies, and resources

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, software engineering or an information technology related field
  • Direct working experience in design, implementation (including coding), and quality assurance relevant to automotive systems
  • Simulation experience in automotive e.g. model of scenarios with multiple vehicles, sensors, vehicle dynamics, or world modeling for software-in-the-loop or hardware-in-the-loop
  • Ability to program in C, C++ and Python
  • Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1 or more years of direct working experience in design, implementation (including coding), and quality assurance testing relevant to automated driving systems
  • 1 or more years of simulation experience within ADAS or active safety
  • 1 or more years’ experience in C, C++, Python, Matlab/Simulink, XML, JSON
  • Familiarity with distributed cluster computing framework tools such as Hadoop, Hortonworks or Spark
