JOB SUMMARY

Nature of Work

This position will encompass ownership of as many of the Airbus related tool responsibilities as possible. It has engineering, customer interface and IT components.

As a first tier supplier to Airbus, Collins Aerospace is mandated to use certain unique or highly customized Airbus IT tools in the design of products. These tools differ from the core tools used by Collins Aerospace and present different challenges.

This is a new role that has historically been performed by three separate people (two from the business and one from Engineering IT). The role proposed will bring these historically separate roles into one role/person located in Leighton Buzzard.

Level of Work

  • UEA tasks (user administration)

  • Multi Factor Authentication management

  • Airbus Release Package download, testing and roll out

  • Issue resolution after roll out

  • Release Package testing for application use

  • Evaluation of contractual impact

  • Evaluation of business impact

  • Day to day Airbus tools issues and support

  • Manage Trend download list (new/removed MSNs)

  • Request changes from Airbus

  • Weekly communication of available MSNs to users

  • VT cubed

  • Catia support (Airbus and general)

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES[1]

Education

Engineering/IT Degree or equivalent

Related Experience

  • Knowledge of the Airbus engineering software toolset

Including Trend

  • Troubleshooting and diagnosing IT problems

  • Experience of Catia

  • Knowledge of the Airbus business and ability to assess the implications of changes in the tools on the business.

  • Experience of Macros/VB

  • Installing and removing software

  • Aerospace engineering background

  • Structured and organised approach

  • Good written and verbal communication

Related Experience

The preferred candidate will be able to demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Experience of a structured User Acceptance Testing process

  • Experience of working in a helpdesk structure

LOCAL INFORMATION

  • This role reports to – Andrew Long

  • Travel requirement – < 10%

  • Hours of Work - Standard Staff Hours – 39 hours per week

Core hours Monday to Thursday, 09.00 to 16.30. Core hours Fridays, 09.00 to

12.30. Additional 7.5 flexible hours to be worked each week:

Monday to Wednesday between:

  • 07.30 to 09.00

  • 16.30 to 18.00

Thursday between:

  • 07.30 to 09.00

  • 16.30 to 19.00

Friday between:

  • 07.30 and 09.00

  • 12.30 and 14.00
