Pratt and Whitney is a world leader in aircraft engines and auxiliary power units. We are a global leader in aviation propulsion and we are behind many of the major advances in both military and commercial engines. We design, manufacture and service aircraft engines, auxiliary and ground power units, and small turbojet propulsion products.
Our Accounting department is recruiting 1 Accounting Co-op positions to begin immediately. This position is designed to be both educational and practical. We are seeking a candidate who can work ~20 hours per week for a minimum of 3 semesters (1 full year) and ~40 hours per week during the summer. Candidate preferences: Sophomore or Junior Accounting student; prefer student to work 6 semesters (2 years in the Co-op position). Hours per semester are flexible depending on changing class schedule.
Position Details include: Assist with month-end closing process by preparing journal entries and supporting analytical reports. Provide monthly reporting to support internal operations as well as external reporting requirements including labor reporting and cost reports, expense analysis, segregation of duties reporting, weekly payroll as well as other ad hoc reporting. Involvement in daily accounting functions including A/R invoicing, payables and support for tax reporting. Maintain pricing database for customer quoting. Annual Sarbanes Oxley controls assessment and testing. Continuous improvement initiatives. Special projects as needed.
Key projects & responsibilities:

Do you meet these Basic Qualifications?
- US Citizenship is required due to government contracts.
- You're in an accredited undergraduate or graduate engineering degree program.
- Fields of study: Accounting
- You will have at least 30 credits prior to starting your internship
- You have a GPA of 3.0 or higher

- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel)
