What's the role?

We’re looking for a Key Account Manager to help drive our business forward in our Energy and Industry sector. In this role you will work to achieve preferred supplier status with specific key accounts within a given Energy and Industry segment. The role is a national position and will require travel throughout Great Britain.

What does the role involve?

As a Key Account Manager, you’ll act as the primary contact and negotiator for assigned segmented key accounts, typically large national and possibly international organisations. You’ll develop and execute account development strategies and pricing agreements with customers to ensure an increasing share of wallet and over proportional growth in sales.
You’ll be involved with mapping the national segment landscape to identify the suppliers, specifiers, regulatory bodies linked to the assigned key accounts, and will become the national owner and expert for the segment, leading the way in identifying trends and how we can tailor our service offerings.
You’ll be tasked with identifying the key contacts and decision-makers for your key accounts and developing relationships with them. You’ll need good communication skills to maintain relationships at all levels, working cohesively with other internal departments to service our customers both technically and commercially.
You’ll need to establish short and long-term customer relationships, including conversion of sales today as well as feeding the pipeline with future standards for targeted projects and /or key segment applications, always linking Hilti’s offering to the needs of the customer to provide a tailored value proposition.

Our Head Office is currently based next to Old Trafford but in early 2021 we will move to state of the art new premises at Circle Square in Central Manchester. We will continue to offer free parking for employees and will be located a short walk from Oxford Rd train station and St Peter's Square tram stop.

What you need is:

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute account strategies and plans
  • Proven sales experience with visible results, preferably with large national/international organisations
  • Previous experience of working within the energy and/or industry sectors
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate competently and at all levels (internally and externally)
  • Demonstrated ability to influence a broad range of stakeholders (directly and indirectly)
  • High level of self-motivation, customer focus and continuous improvement mentality
