Internship for Spring2021Are you passionate about quality and aim for excellence in your everyday work? Would you like to help safeguard the quality of LEGO® products of tomorrow by matching the high standard that the LEGO® products are known for today?
We are looking for two dedicated and passionate Bachelor students to help us reach our goals.
Position one: QTC are establishing the mechanical lifetime baseline of knobs, cross holes and other connecting points on LEGO elements, which are used again and again by kids building and rebuilding creative LEGO creations. You will imitate the wear and tear of time and children’s hands, but over a short time span, which will involve both simple and more complicated laboratory-based tests (UR-robots, Mecmesin tensile and torque, Mindstorm, etc.). Furthermore, you will be testing on new materials and thereby be part of the exciting path for sustainable LEGO bricks.
Position two: The Materials department have a growing need for state of the art materials knowledge. This means that the Materials Laboratory must be able to deliver more and new types of results. We do that by adding new equipment and by better exploiting the large portfolio of equipment already in the lab. The main focus for this position will be to maximize the useful knowledge that can be extracted by the equipment we already have (such as capillary and rotational rheometer, dynamical mechanical analysis, differential scanning calorimetry and themo-gravimetric analysis). You will be part of a team with dedicated lab technicians and test specialists.
More specifically, your role will include:
- Prepare, design and conduct tests on materials in the LEGO portfolio as well as new sustainable materials
- Collect and analyze data from mechanical/analytical tests
- Use Six Sigma approaches like MSA and DOE to ensure good quality in our tests and data
- Look at tests processes from different angles using your critical mindset
- Develop and optimize new test equipment
- Support your colleagues across the team
