The Omnicept AI (http://hp.com/omnicept) team within HP Labs is spearheading the application of artificial intelligence to physiological signals from VR headsets to make inferences about the human mind. In our lab, we conduct research to gain fundamental understanding of AI algorithms and apply these algorithms to HP data for practical business impact.
Some of our research topics include:
(1) Affective computing and Cognitive Science
(2) Virtual Reality and Digital Twins to model complex processes.
(3) Deep Learning techniques
(4) Real-time control of cyber-physical systems,
(5) Computer vision,

Responsibilities:

Current university students who are working in a technical or non-technical internship role at HP during their study or in summer breaks between university semesters.

Education and Experience Required:

Working towards completion of a Master's degree or in a PhD program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Cognitive Neuroscience, or Experimental Psychology. Interns in the Immersive Experiences Lab will focus on collaborating with researchers on the team to design, prototype, and conduct research in order to answer key questions about people and practices. Successful projects might help shape future product directions and have significant impact for HP and the academic community as well.
